Dancer & Choreographer
ABOUT The ArtiSt:

Olivia Schlanger is a multi-faceted performance artist, originally from Massachusetts. In 2010, Schlanger attended Kimball Union Academy in New Hampshire, where she began choreographing and studying modern technique. Upon graduation from Kimball Union, Schlanger continued her dance education at UC Davis, under the direction of David Grenke, former principle dancer for Paul Taylor Dance Company.

In 2016, Schlanger studied at the American Dance Festival in North Carolina under various artists, including Gwen Weliver, Gerald Casel, Juliana May, Netta Yerushalmy, and Tatiana Baganova. Along with like-minded artists, she began to emphasize process over product.

Schlanger’s work has been presented at a number of venues around New England and San Francisco, and her most recent work will be presented at the 2019 San Francisco Movement Arts Festival in Grace Cathedral. Schlanger is also in the process of creating a new work as part of the 2019 SAFEhouse RAW Artists Residency program.

While trying to sustain her own career in performance and choreography, Schlanger continues to work towards expanding the boundaries of commercial entertainment by using live performance as a recreational space for her body, self, and imagination.
